...the following are screen grabs from, perhaps, the most controversial scene in all of the early 80's slashers- the raft scene in THE BURNING. Five happy teenage campers loose a lot more than their tent pegs, courtesy of Cropsy, the disfigured caretaker with the lightning shears. This finger-snippingly-good scene was aided and abetted by the gore fx of one Tom Savini. The scene was gruesome enough to help get the film banned in England as a 'video-nasty' (where the film had been accidentally released completely uncut on video. The screen grabs come from that version)- and, in America where the movie suffered severe trimming by the censors for an R-rating. Enjoy!
