- Mrs Voorhees looses her head!
...what an ending to the climatic battle between Mrs Voorhees and Alice! Yet another gory fx masterpeice from Tom Savini. In the re-release version the scene is slightly different in-so-much that Alice's reaction shot comes immediately after Mrs Voorhees' head comes off; before cutting back to the stump spurting blood. This has the effect of lessening the impact somewhat- but not that much actual nastiness is missing though...
